Upgrading from AIX 5.2 to 5.3 - No migration option displayed
If you are attempting to perform a migration upgrade and after booting from the installation CD and the migration option is not displayed, then try the following
Check if you have fibre adapters installed in the server.
If you have fibre adapters installed then this could be the cause of the issue, ensure before you start the upgrade that any fibre cables are unplugged and terminator plugs installed in their place.
Try the installation again and hopefully the migration option should be presented to you.
If there still isn't a migration option then also try removing any SSA cables
